KSUBI X RICHARD NICOLL

March 20, 2008

Ksubi (formerly known as Tsubi) is an Australian fashion label, co-founded by surfers Dan Single and George Gorrow. The brand is know as one of the notorious, recognized, street-wise and innovative fashion labels in the world, with a diverse range of fans from Australian underground musicians and NYC models, to celebrities and fashion icons from Kanye West to Madonna.Recently, Ksubi has collaborated with British-bon, Australian-raised innovative designer, Richard Nicoll to create a fierce line of “sunnies”. The small but perfectly constructed eyewear collection consists of three styles: an aggressive, scientific look named ‘Jacob, a super serious look named ‘Justin’ and a slightly scary look called ‘Jason’.Nicoll, who is known for his freelance work with Louis Vuitton has drawn inspiration for the sunglass line from his own Spring/Summer 2008 womenswear line. Gorrow of Ksubi claims that working with Nicoll was a “no-brainer”. The designers have yet to release news of when the sunnies will be avaiable, but from the looks of it, they are sure to be a hit.

These are hot. They fit the flashy rock star look like Kanye. I can def see Madonna where the stripped ones. They do look pretty generic to whats out there today though. My guess is that unless they come out with something more classic then they will just phase out.
