Went to Karaoke Killed the Cat last night hosted by my dude Chris Goldteeth. Off the flippin chain.. My homies Kareem Black and Celeste were out being stupid with me. I also kicked it with Raquel the stylist who was chilling cause she had to get up for a shoot with Missbehave in the morning. But then the beast came out when she rocked “We Are The World” with me on stage. We killed it!

Saigon X Swiss Beatz X Kiser
Posted in KISER on September 24, 2007 by KiserMy girl the super stylist Rae invited me to a Saigon and Swiss Beatz music video shoot yesterday. The concept of the video was that Swiss and Saigon show up to perform at an event only to discover that the shady promoter booked them at a punk club. So they rock it out anyway and the crowd goes nuts. I was supposed to be an extra but I had to leave early for my Pop-up Shop at Gallery bar. I was all ready to do the Kiser dance and everything…

Photo-Eye Magazine
Posted in Tips on September 24, 2007 by KiserI got a chance to sit down in Union Square the other day and talk with my boy Darius Himes. Darius and I go way back to the days when I was a teenager running around in Haifa, Israel. He is also the editor of Photo-Eye Magazine, the only magazine devoted entirely to photography books. I’m a sucker for photography books they are full of inspiration for random idea. I’m loving Photo-Eye.

Darius brought me the latest issue and we got to talk about photography, the death of printed material and all the beautiful women that walk through Union Sq.
Long story short, you should grab a copy of Photo-Eye and read it while people-watching in Union Sq. A couple highlights for me from the “Survey of New Books” section are:
Beautiful Suffering by Mark Reinhardt, Holly Edwards and Erina Duganne – the ethical complexities of picturing the pain of others.
Disco Year by Ron Galella – Images from the 80’s. Studio 54 etc.

Pornografie by Klaus Staeck – Staecks appropriation and use of media images of riots, war, bodies, torture tools..

Chicago by Broomberg and Chanarin – Images of Chicago, a fictional city in the Negev Desert in Israel where Israeli troops stage raids on faux Arab strongholds.

Posted in Tips on September 21, 2007 by KiserThe Brooklyn Circus X Kiser
Posted in KISER on September 21, 2007 by KiserTook a trip over to The Brooklyn Circus to have a chat with Ouigi about an upcoming covert project we are workin on. Its top secret right now but it will involve some highly conceptual shit and a Brooklyn invasion of Manhattan.
For those who dont know, The Brooklyn Circus is a really innovative team of guys who operate a store and clothing line on Bergen and Nevins in BK. What I love about these guys is that they always have their fingers on the pulse and always have a unique creative vision. We have collaborated in the past but this project (to be launched Nov. 1st) is going to be bonkers.

Posted in KISER on September 20, 2007 by KiserKiser X KarmaloopTV X Complex Magazine
Posted in KISER on September 19, 2007 by KiserCrazy day… I got invited by KarmaloopTV to be interviewed by Complex Magazine Fashion Director Anoma Ya Whittaker at the Complex offices in Manhattan. I should mention that the Marc Ecko building is completely out of control. The 5 floor building is packed with dope paintings, a basketball court, random hippos and offices for Complex, G-Unit Clothing, Avirex, Ecko, Zoo York, Ecko Red, and Marc Ecko cut and sew. Fucking guy… I’m hating! How funny is it that he bought the Barry Bonds record breaking ball and is giving us the option to blast it into space. Obviously the kid in me is clicking that “blast into space” button a hundred times cause blasting is cool. Right Beavis?
The segment will be out on KarmaloopTV in November. Dont change that channel!

Anoma is the sweetest most down to earth lady, she even did a cheesy pic with me. She’s really feeling the line so watch out for a KISER feature in Complex soon. She was also real hype about my girls Sweet Tater’s flannel top that she was wearing.

My boy from Danny from Palis was in the house as well and we got to have a long awaited talk about our future collaboration. All I can say is that its gonna be released in mid-March and wont be a t-shirt.
